Modular R01s in Cancer Control and Population Sciences (R01 Clinical Trial Optional)

DCCPS is pleased to announce the release of PAR-18-869<https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-18-869.html> to promote novel population science with the potential to substantially advance cancer research in statistical and analytic methods, epidemiology, cancer survivorship, behaviors and behavioral interventions, healthcare delivery, and implementation science.

This "Modular R01" mechanism supports diverse research topics and scientific challenges in the population sciences that lend themselves to a shorter time span and reduced budget, but require more than the two years allowed under the R21 or R03 mechanisms. While one goal of this initiative is to grow the early-stage investigator applicant pool, all extramural investigators with a novel cancer control project idea are encouraged to apply.

DCCPS will host a Webinar in September for the extramural research community and begin disseminating widely next week.
