TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I , McGovern Institute for Brain Research (2 openings), to join the Kanwisher Lab and help conduct research on the functional organization of the human brain using fMRI, intracranial recording, magnetoencephalography, behavior, and other methods. Responsibilities include assisting with all aspects of research, including designing and programming experiments, conducting fMRI and MEG scans and behavioral experiments, analyzing MRI and other data, debugging Linux server problems, implementing and maintaining analysis software, providing technical support for lab personnel, and performing some basic administrative duties. The position is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and a serious interest in cognitive science/neuroscience to explore the field as a possible stepping stone to graduate school.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED : a bachelor's degree in cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, engineering, psychology, physics, or math; at least two years of relevant experience; strong math, statistics, and computer skills computer skills (e.g., MATLAB, Python, shell scripting; TensorFlow or PyTorch would be a plus) ; programming experience; Mac and Windows troubleshooting skills; solid knowledge of the Linux/UNIX environment; strong organizational skills; self-motivation; and ability to multitask and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Research experience in cognitive neuroscience and experience conducting and/or or analyzing fMRI experiments and/or anatomical MRI studies is desired. Research experience in cognitive neuroscience and experience conducting and/or analyzing fMRI, MEG, or intracranial experiments would be a plus.
