The Fries Lab at the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI) in Frankfurt is looking for an enthusiastic research assistant / data analyst, who is interested in analyzing complex brain data underlying psychological phenomena. The position is for two years initially, with the possibility of extension, and can start at any time in 2021 or 2022. This call will remain open until the position is filled.
The Fries Lab investigates how cognitive processes like attention are coded in the brain. One idea is that this happens via groups of neurons in different brain areas that synchronize their activity. You will help analyzing brain data that assess this idea. You will be jointly supervised by Dr. Marieke Schölvinck and Prof. Pascal Fries, and your contribution to the analyses will be recognized in the form of authorships on publications. For details on the institute and the lab, see: www.esi-frankfurt.de/pf<http://www.esi-frankfurt.de/pf>
The position is open for candidates with a range of qualifications, starting from a BSc degree and including candidates with a PhD. Your salary is commensurate with your qualifications. The main criterion is a solid background in Matlab programming and a convincing interest in analyzing brain data.
