*Postdoc position in Visual Neuroscience: Neuroplasticity related to visual
impairment*



We seek a post-doctoral scientist with an interest in brain imaging
research (Magnet Resonance Imaging)  on neuroplasticity as a consequence of
visual impairments.

The position is part of the a joined research project of the Biological
Psychology and Neuropsychology lab (BPN) of the University of Hamburg
(Germany) and the LV Prasad Eye Institute (Hyderabad, India) (the
Indo-German Lab).



We expect experience in conducting structural and functional brain imaging
research in humans, including a good understanding of the hardware and
software needs for task-dependent fMRI. Some background in MRI physics are
of advantage.  A high proficiency in oral and written English is required.



The candidate would be expected to set up brain imaging studies in humans
at a private radiology department in Hyderabad (India), and to support
brain imaging studies of the Indo-German lab.



Depending on the qualification, the candidate will get the opportunity to
conduct their own MRI studies on sight restoration.



The start date will be decided by mutual agreement, but we hope to fill
this position latest by January 2024. The salary is set based on the
available qualification. The current project will end in 09/2025, but an
extension by two more years is likely.
