Dear colleagues,
 
The University of Poitiers will open soon a call for applications for a Junior Professor Chair positioned at the intersection of computer science and applied mathematics. As the chair is based on an interdisciplinary research dynamic, the selected candidate should have a computer science or statistics profile, with a strong openness to collaboration on various education-related topics, including psychology.
 
📌 We are looking for outstading and motivated candidates, holding a PhD and having an experience as a researcher, with one of the following profiles:
 
🔹 Computer Science Profile (XLIM Laboratory, UMR7252)
The selected candidate will develop explainable AI and deep learning methods applied to educational data, including:
  Designing robust and interpretable AI models;
  Optimizing neural network architectures;
  Federated learning and sensitive data protection;
  Analyzing learning processes using advanced data mining techniques.
 
🔹 Statistics Profile (Mathematics and Applications Laboratory - LMA, UMR7348)
The selected candidate will focus on advanced statistical modeling for complex and heterogeneous educational data, covering:
   High-dimensional statistics and machine learning;
   Bayesian analysis and stochastic algorithms;
   Modeling student performance and evaluating educational policies;
   Integrating econometric and optimization methods for analyzing inequalities in education.
 
📍 Teaching Responsibilities
The position includes teaching of 64h at the Master’s level (Computer Science, Mathematics, or Signal & Image Processing) depending on profile and contributing to the Ceramics & ICT Graduate School of Excellence.
 
🔎 Funding & Conditions
  Host laboratories: XLIM or LMA (depending on profile)
  €200K funded by ANR + €1M from the “Quality Education” project (IH2EF / UP)
  Location: Campus Sciences, Futuroscope Site – Université de Poitiers (France)
  The successful candidate, fullfiling all the conditions of the promotion committee,  will be promoted to the Full Professor rank after 5 years of service.
