For those attending VSS 2026,

Mentoring Envisioned is delighted to offer the Mentoring Envisioned - Insights near peer mentoring program again for VSS!

The goal of Mentoring Envisioned is to develop a community that supports near-peer mentoring at VSS and beyond. Near-peer mentoring refers to relationships built within and across trainees of varying levels of experience (e.g., graduate students mentoring undergraduate students; advanced graduate students mentoring early graduate students; postdocs mentoring advanced graduate students; early faculty mentoring postdocs etc.). Anyone has potential to fill a role as a mentor for community members junior to them, and to be a mentee of community members more senior. Unsure what to discuss with a near-peer mentor? Check out our tips sheet here<https://foveavision.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/MentoringEnvisioned_TipsSheet.pdf>!

Here’s how Mentoring Envisioned - Insights works:

  1.
If you are interested in either being a mentor or a mentee (or both!), please complete this interest form<https://forms.gle/wc5NZcbvkR7bRSdd8> by April 30th.
  2.
We will match mentors/mentees in pairs (small groups) and put them in contact with each other before VSS.
  3.
Each pair/group will coordinate a time to meet up for a 1 hour chat at VSS.
  4.
After VSS, we will ask each participant to fill out a short survey on how the meeting went.

That's it! If you are interested, please fill out the interest form<https://forms.gle/wc5NZcbvkR7bRSdd8> by April 30th. Additional details can be found at the top of the form.

See you at VSS!
